I didn’t grow up in Milwaukee. I grew up in Sheboygan, an hour away, and I really only went to Milwaukee for the airport. Well, I also went to the mall a couple times in high school (they had a Forever 21 and a Charlotte Russe, which were devastatingly absent from our mall). But it’s not a city I’m familiar with. And while I’ve been in Wisconsin a year now, and performing regularly, it’s often not in Milwaukee. I’m driving down to Chicago, to Madison, to Appleton, to bar shows in small towns that don’t like it if you bring up 9-11. But on Tuesday I do a show in Milwaukee.
