People did not warn me about motherhood. Of course, I heard it would be difficult. “Difficult, but worth it!” Lots of things are difficult, though. Bombing in front of hundreds of people. Getting fired from a job you love. Dealing with a mice infestation the morning you’re hosting Thanksgiving. But when I became a mother, I felt almost deceived. You didn’t tell me
Hang in there, this entry definitely brought back that dread. Felt like I had nothing to look forward to, thoughts of death- it's BRUTAL. My wife's life was consumed with pumping. Pumping from work, pumping at night- it's so insane to think about now. No one talks about it because childbirth is a MI-RA-CLE (clasps hands, bats eyelashes.) You WILL return to comedy. Oh, and congratulations!
I saw your "tight ten" on David Spade's show pre-pandemic and fell in love w/your sense of humor. I subscribed to your blog today. I look forward to seeing your stand-up in person one day. Hang in there "Rachel the Tight-Ten" #SeeWhatIDidThere
Use this material! You already have it written down. I just read your post about your WI shows. Motherhood (especially new motherhood) is something most women, regardless of political ideology, can relate to. I think of comedy not only as entertainment, but an opportunity for me and others to gain a new perspective. If you can't perform right now, just write some material. And when you're ready, I want to see you in FL! (Yes, some of us are really liberal. A lot of us, actually.)
I have now read all of your blogs. I emailed you. I said you were the funniest comic I had heard in 15 years at least. I've been obsessed with comedy since 1980. Carlin then. I was ten. Later Regan, Dice, Watching "Evening at the Improv" 10 times a week in the early 90s. Then early Gaffigan and Dane Cook before arena shows made them too mainstream. The silliness of Swardson. The sarcasm of Gulman. Finding Bill Hicks' "Flying Saucer Tour Vol 1" which is still my all-time favorite. Hicks in a complete Pittsburgh show, with no splicing, in front of an audience of what sounds like about 13 people. Then episodes of Keith and the Girl in Queens where I was introduced to Giraldo and Jesse Joyce. Then last night my YouTube plays your Tight Five from Spade. Next thing, I am searching you on YouTube and listened to your entire album, TWICE, plus messaged several of my more open-minded friends to link your album for them to hear. All this to say, it's not too often in the last 43 years of my life that I have heard a comic and thought "THIS one is different.." But you are. And you WILL be back. And when you are, you will be the ONLY you- the weaknesses, experiences, life challenges, etc., - that you can be, and that's so much better than most others. Michael Jordan missed shots. Tom Brady lost games, but when they did, they were so much better than almost anyone else. On their BAD days. With the true greats, you never know what's coming next. That's you. That will always be you. And I knew it very quickly.
We’re here when you’re ready. Momentum will return. Anyone that can write a student loans/bj joke can’t be kept down.

I love you so much.
Wow, you are such a raw, honest writer. Always wonderful to read. Absolutely brilliant. Best wishes through this phase.

My baby is two months also. This is 3 and I also forgot how hard it was and the boredom and loneliness like you said. Hang in there!
