I am also terribly lonely but single without children. For now, I'm blaming the city of Los Angeles and my sobriety for the loneliness. Good on you for taking initiative and just picking up a damn phone

So true. Definitely went through a time where this happened to myself and the mother of my children (we’re divorced, but on good terms. “Ex-wife” seems harsh). It’s funny that there’s an expectation of a text before a call these days so that some of the awkwardness you describe can be avoided. Anyway, thanks for sharing yourself and your art with us. 🙂
